The cosy fireside bar offers the unique ambience of our historic inn, along with traditional ales, lagers and an extensive wine and drinks list.Whether you are after a light bite, a meal with friends, or sharing a family celebration our oak-panelled restaurant or relaxed lounge provides the perfect setting. Our head chef sources local and seasonal ingredients to deliver fresh, traditional and contemporary dishes for all tastes and dietary requirements. Dining with girl friends on a Wednesday night so not busy. Excellent food. Great service but not too intrusive. I had three courses and finished them all which I never normally do. I'd recommend it for small or large groups. We will definitely be going back.

We chose the Crown as a half way meeting point with extended family, what a great choice, to start with the ambiance was beautiful and very historic, the welcome was most friendly, the service was all you could ask for, the menu was different and interesting, and the food was the with out doubt the best we have tasted for a long time, particularly at those prices ,the four of us chose differently and were all delighted with our choices , a fantastic experience, next time we are in that area we will definitely call in again, better than 5 out of 5 Graham and Sue Maddox
