The Durham Ox is a family owned traditional village Inn offering friendly and efficient service; showcasing the best of local produce in our menu, as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales. An award winning traditional pub complete with flag stone floors, exposed beams, oak panelling and roaring fires in winter. (We have dog friendly tables, but these are limited so please do call us to secure one if your dog is dining with us.)As well as our extensive restaurant areas, The Durham Ox has several spaces for Private Dining to celebrate any occasion and can seat between 10-85 guests for a formal or informal dinner. For those wishing for over-night accommodation there are five converted farm cottages that provide a peaceful and charming place to stay, the converted Studio Suite located above the pub and a self catered cottage in the village, Ivy Cottage that sleeps up to 6 people.

Based in the Norton, just across the River Derwent from the market town of Malton you will find the Derwent Arms. Run by experienced couple Simon & Charlie alongside our team of staff we are the perfect place to sit back and enjoy our delicious menu with your favourite drink in hand. For the warmer days we’ve got 2 large beer terraces to the front & rear of the pub and those darker nights we dim the lights, set the ambience and make sure everything’s to our customers satisfaction.Whether it be a light lunch from our smaller plates menu served Monday- Friday 12-5pm or a two course set meal from our evening set menu served Monday- Wednesday 5-8pm we’ll be more than happy to accommodate you. On Saturday evenings we also hold live music from 8pm- why not join us for a meal followed by some live entertainment whilst soaking up the atmosphere at the Derwent Arms.Car parking to the rear with space for upto 40 vehicles, we also offer camper van stopovers. Charles XII is the closest pub to the University of York, located in Heslington.It offers a vastly sized beer garden to the rear with car parking facilities available, whilst remaining traditional and cosy inside. We are also dog friendly.Food served from 10:00am daily, and 12:00pm on Sunday for a freshly cooked roast.Newest additions to the pub since a recent refurbishment include the installation of Sky & BT Sports, 6 hand pulled cask ales, 3 craft lagers and a brand new outdoor covered seating area for all year round use.

Having read lots of great reviews about the Forest we decided it was about time to check out if it was as good as we'd heard and so glad we did. It more than lived up to expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely be going again and would highly recommend to others. A little gem of a place.

This was a belated Christmas treat with friends and we had a lovely time. We thought the view from the table was outstanding and the food was plentiful and tasty.
