Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible.     All around wonderful experience. We had a reservation at 8:00 but found our schedule changed a bit and we hoped to eat earlier. We stopped by the restaurant at 6:30 to see if they could seat us sooner, and they prepared a table for us right away. At the same time, I heard another guest ask the host how soon they could be seated without a reservation, and she was told the wait was 90 minutes! We felt like VIPs! The service, the food, and the ambience were all incredible. Our water glasses were never empty. Our food was delivered in the ideal time. Everything was delicious. We love the family-style menu that let all of us share and taste several entrees. The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve had. We look forward to returning!

    Married to an Italian who missed grandma’s feast of the seven fishes. Finally found a restaurant close to home that served it on Christmas Eve and it did not disappoint! 10/10 absolutely amazing! While a 3 hour dinner isn’t for everyone, it’s truly an experience! Service was outstanding, food was incredible, overall fantastic! Will definitely be back before next Christmas. Sarah was perfect! And the 2 managers we interacted with (by choice to share the positive) were so hospitable. Great job by all!
