Saffron serves an eclectic mixture of traditional Indian Cuisine punctuated by the flavors of the Himalayas. Our food stand true to its roots and origin while we source most of our produce locally. All dishes, sauces, naans and desserts are made in house from scratch. We are proud to be the first restaurant in Austin with a dedicated Nepalese menu. Nepal is a land of many flavors, while many of its dishes are indigenous and indicative of its culture and people, while few are inspired by its immediate neighbors, India and China. Food was fabulous. We shared the brussel sprouts and had the steak. Steak was flavorful and tender. Had a great bottle of wine, half off on Sundays. We sat outside which was nice, except when it started getting cold. They ran out of propane tanks, so the heaters weren't working.

Unbelievable. Every moment was special and every flavor built upon the last. Having celiac, they made the experience seamless and I felt perfect after. Very full and perfect. Loved the deviled eggs, beef tartare, lobster bisque, Caesar, wagyu filet, the chocolate dessert, and the crème brûlée 🍮 Thank you for impeccable service and care.

Another exquisite visit to Uchi. The service was fabulous from the moment we walked in. We let our server Jessica give us some guidance on our menu for the evening, and her recommendations did not disappoint. The sake tom kha was delicious, with a flavor packed tom kha reduction. We also had an ocean trout nigiri on special that was so delicious, we ordered seconds. We’ll be back!
