Opened in 1984 by passionate chef Sally Clarke, this local legend on Kensington Church Street has become a firm favourite with professional critics and amateur gourmets alike. For 21 years, Sally served a four-course ‘no choice’ set dinner, but now there is a daily-changing menu that showcases her passion for high quality seasonal produce. Herbs and vegetables come from organic suppliers in South East England; buffalo mozzarella is flown in from Naples twice a week; and shellfish is sent overnight by rail from Scotland. We arrived late, but the staff’s attitude was excellent, and there was no compromise in respect or service. All the menus were explained thoroughly and patiently. The staff were extremely polite and professional. Special thanks to Ms Pamela, who, with her professionalism and hospitality, made it an extraordinary evening for us. The quality of the food and its presentation were excellent, and the prices were in line with the quality.
