Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. The name Melina is rooted in Greek origin and derives from the Greek word for "honey". "Mel" can be derived from the name Melissa meaning "honey-bee".     Filomena has always been our go-to restaurant, and it never fails to exceed our expectations. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting ambiance that sets the tone for an incredible dining experience. The food, as always, was absolutely delicious—each dish crafted with care and bursting with flavor. What truly elevated our evening was the outstanding service we received from Nebil. His professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness made us feel truly valued as guests. Nebil anticipated our needs effortlessly, provided thoughtful recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect from start to finish. It’s rare to encounter such exceptional service, and it made an already great meal even more memorable. Filomena, once again, proved why it remains our favorite dining spot!

    Zaytinya is one of my go to places to take friends, family, and out of town people because the food is great and the price is great! Our waitress took a while to take our order but the food came out fast and the drinks were great!

    I went for my birthday celebration. We had a table of 4. All of the servers were attentive, suggestive with menu items and drinks, and polite. The attire requiring business casual, made the dining experience exceptional for the occasion. It fit the motif and the level service to expect. The food was amazing and creative. I definitely would go again. I would recommend the restaurant for special evenings with family and loved ones as well.

    From the moment we stepped in and to the moment we left, we were such well taken cared for. SHIA thought of every little detail. Not only was the food amazing but it truly was the people that made the difference. You could feel the warmth and genuineness shine through every person we interacted with. It was a cozy and intimate night we won't ever forget.
