We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength. Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running. We also received the Thai select award from the UK Thai Embassy which certifies authenticity and the freshness of our ingredients.We’re a young team of enthusiastic individuals, who over the last few years have bought our passion and skills to the table. TWe had an excellent meal at hawksmoor wood wharf. The staff were attentive and food was delicious. It was our first meal in wood wharf and we loved the venue and setting. We will be back.

I recently visited Blacklock in Canary Wharf with three friends, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, and the service was truly exceptional. Our waiter, Marcell, was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. Manager Angel also came by to check on us, adding a personal touch that we really appreciated. The food was top-notch—delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. From start to finish, everything was just fab! Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience.

Really lovely dinner. Food celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients and the daily changing menu meant it was a surprise until we got there which is lovely! Staff were warm and friendly, happy to answer any questions. Wasn’t full but still felt really lively. Not too expensive in relative terms although I would say the size of some things (eg dessert) in compared to price was a little bit small. But the quality was absolutely excellent.
