The acclaimed restaurant, born out of the founders’ passion for the food of their native Greece and their love of sharing a hearty, family meal with friends, has set up a second home in Sarasota.Fresh and quality ingredients, mostly grown organically, and sourced from well established, local producers are used in dishes that are both traditional and creatively contemporary. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Our casual restaurant has a retro contemporary theme which includes a carved wood bar topped with marble, granite table tops and bright turquoise and red accents flanking the wood-burning brick oven. Terrace seating is shared with our fine dining concept Bella Roma. Flavio, a third-generation chef from Venice, Italy, says his Farinata is not available anywhere else in the area. The thin pancake (much like a tortilla) is made of chickpeas, baked in the wood-burning oven and enhanced with rosemary and other savory toppings. Among Flavio's thin-crust pizzas (his grandfather's recipes) are the popular Quattro Stagioni (fresh mozzarella, mushrooms, prosciutto, olives) and the Pizza Vegetariana with assorted grilled veggies. The rustic bread and focaccia are made on the premises. Flavio's also serves up house-made pasta dishes, plus veal and seafood entrees. We look forward to serving you!

    This was the fifth time we had dinner at Ophelia’s and it was awesome as always. The staff is so friendly and helpful, everything was timed perfectly. I had the best duck ever and my wife had lobster risotto that was amazing. It’s so good they were able to recover from the recent hurricanes! We will be back soon.

    The food at Pietro's is always so delicious that we keep returning time after time and year after year. The daily specials offer an interesting variety of options...LOVE all of the pasta dishes! Wine selection is terrific and the staff are always willing to give recommendations . The new location is a bit small, but very cozy. The owners, Pietro and Susan, are wonderful humans. Kudos to all of the staff: EVO, Wendy, Johanna, and Alejandro! A must go to in Sarasota!

    Baker & Wife has never disappointed. The dishes are creative and well-cooked, the waitstaff are attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is like a neighborhood bistro. This visit, we ordered the meatloaf with Korean bbq sauce which was excellent and the salmon which was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Baker & Wife to anyone looking for a great place to dine.

    Food and service were excellent. My wife enjoyed the veal and I had lasagna. We paired our dinner with a nice bottle of Montepulicano d’Abruzzo. I would dine here again.
