Shinsei Restaurant - Traditional Sushi / Contemporary Asian KitchenWhen we came up with the concept of Shinsei we wanted a place that reflected our lifestyles: sometimes we went out to dinner with our kids and sometimes with our friends and husbands. We wanted to create a place where a night out with the kids didn’t mean food adults had to suffer through or a night out with the parents didn’t mean a stuffy place where kids had to wear a scratchy clip-on tie. Shinsei is just that: a neighborhood gathering place with date night appeal. But not so unexpected that you won’t be able to decipher the menu or recognize your favorite dish. Our signature poppers, for instance, are a sophisticated mix of late night bar food and sumptuous finger food with a distinctly Asian flair.

Sister is a restaurant project from Duro Hospitality. Sister will live in the halls of the famed Grape, a Dallas icon for over 40 years. She will serve loosely Italian-inspired neighborhood fare, wood-fired meats and fish, daily house made pasta, and lightly Mediterranean inspired cuisine. The design will feel like a family Trattoria that has grown through the years including collected memorabilia giving the space a quirky and playful feeling.     Our experience at Perry’s is always amazing and the server provided world class service to us. We had the upper cut ribeye with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. The chef made our daughter some delicious angle hair pasta with chicken Alfredo sauce. We was celebrating my husband’s 50th Birthday. Of course I always enjoy the Martini flights and my husband had a Manhattan and our daughter had the raspberry soda made in house. We had the raspberry cheesecake and when I say it was delicious. The manager came by to see how everything was going for us. Thank you Perry’s for an amazing lunch.

    10/10 everything. To start the atmosphere was beautiful. The host Nancy was very kind and welcoming, along with our server, Taylor, she was absolutely lovely and very personable. And to top it all off the food was superb! The perfect spot to have girls nights or host others and wow them, my sister said the flavors were bursting in her mouth lol!

    Ate at the bar. Great choice! Angie took great care of us. Cocktails on point. Food: order literally anything and you will be happy. This is the kind of place you know whatever you get will be great. Can’t wait to come back.

    We always have such a fun time when we go to Doughbird. The wait staff is experienced and friendly. We had Lauren on our last visit and she makes it so fun. Everything on the menu is good. If we want to sit in a quieter spot we choose a booth behind the hostess stand.
