Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. Wonderful food! Highly recommend the pork chop, filet mignon and swordfish. Octopus starter was excellent too. Our waiter, Michael, was excellent.

The Thanksgiving buffet was absolutely fabulous!!! The mashed potatoes were real potatoes and delicious; even the gravy was awesome! The white meat of the turkey was moist, not dry, the green beans were cooked just enough, and the prime rib was to die for!!! It was a truly spectacular meal!!!

I take my mom here every time I come to town. We used to come here regularly when I lived in Pittsburgh. The food and drinks are always delicious, the restaurant has a very cool vibe, everyone who works there is friendly and kind, and the service is consistently excellent.
