The word Bagatelle comes from the French and means "a trifle or a little nothing", often referring to a light, fun, yet not too serious spring time romance. The French brought their history of fine cuisine and their love of wine to the Caribbean Islands. It is in this tradition that we have combined our French heritage, southern hospitality and the indigenous tastes of the Florida Keys into the meals we prepare today. First Flight Island Restaurant and Brewery is located in the home of Pan Americans office, where the first American international flight ticket Key West- Havana, Cuba was bought on October 28th 1927. The restaurant features a beautiful garden dining area nestled under the canopies of 2 Strangler Figs, an inside dining room with Pan American memorabilia and an indoor- outdoor crash bar made from an airplane wing.This is also the birthplace of the Southernmost Brewery in the States where 3 flagship and seasonal beers are made by Brewmaster Andrew Koennecke. Best steak in the Keys. She crab soup was great as was the truffle, smoke Gouda Mac n cheese. NY strip was tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked.

We had a very pleasant meal at Bagatelle. Our salad took quite a while to come out, but our entrees were very timely. My husband ordered the swordfish, and I had the grouper special. The grouper was excellent, although I was surprised at the cost when the bill came. The swordfish was good, but a little on the dry side. Portion sizes were very generous. All in all, a very nice meal in a beautiful location.

Hidden gem !!!!! We had they oysters (which were outstanding) the catch of the day (swordfish) and the blackened grouper all were perfectly done, presentation was beautiful and the amount of food in each dish was fabulous! The live music was such a nice touch , we left relaxed and happy! Will definitely be back !
