An exceptionally stylish supper club, civilized speakeasy, a sophisticated saloon. Each of these "personae" is housed in a soaring two-story interior distinguished by a gently curving mahogany bar, fluted columns with ornate capitals, stunning original art, plush banquettes, cozy booths, starched linens, glittering glasses, and polished flatware. Overall, the ambiance is pure 1930's and 1940's - tasteful art moderne reminiscent of the glory days of Cunard and French Line ships. Fashionable and glamorous are the hallmarks.     I've been staying at the Fairmont for the past 20+ years at this time of year and I always make an evening of the Tonga Room. Nothing like it in the world (that I know of) with tiki interior, a rain storm every so often with thunder and lightning, fab service from Bash my waiter, delicious food and super entertainment from the band, The Island Groove. What a great evening!!

    The food was delicious, all the ceviches we ordered and the chaufa were outstanding. Service was impecable and super attentive and the ambience lively and relaxed at the same time. Kudos to this place and the great server from Mexico City and the kitchen staff that were very conscious of my kids allergies. Highly recommend this restaurant.

    Afternoon tea was amazing. Delicate petite sandwiches with caviar and delicious sweets. We ordered a half bottle of champagne and enjoyed the experience!

    All the staffs are very courteous, nice, friendly and notice details quickly. From the starter, Oysters were fresh, and with the seaweed vinaigrette, it elevated the oyster a lot. With the frog leg, the meat is so tender and juicy. Sauce on the side offers a nice acidity touch for fried dish. I loved the fact that they took inspiration from Nashville Hot Chicken and curated to their own version, everything on the plate were seasoned perfectly even with the pickle they served on the side. Grilled half sea bream was wonderful, I can taste the charbroiled flavor. Fish was very crispy,meaty, juicy and buttery. With the Meyer lemon herb salad, it definitely made the dish more refreshing. Overall, I really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you for everything and for sure I will come back soon.

    I was a little surprised at the clam chowder, which is shellfish in a broth, not the creamy kind I am used to. It was good, but it is a lot of work to separate the clams from their shells, dispose of the shells, then dig out the clams from withinthe broth. Interesting experience! The shrimp risotto was excellent, the Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc accompanied it well, and to finish, the affogato was really nice. Mency was attentive and professional. And we had a perfect table, in the corner overlooking the water. The weather was drizzly and foggy, which the restaurant can't control (I'm sure they wish they could), so I'll try to be back when I can enjoy the view.
