General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Fantastic addition to the neighborhood. The outside is understated, but you are transported to a quite beautiful space as you walk through the door. The menu is very eclectic, with lots of great and varied options. Service was friendly and attentive, but not overly intrusive. The food arrived promptly, looked great and was delicious. For a place that's only been open 2 months, they are doing great, and will only improve as they get into their rhythm. Will definitely be returning.

It’s always a treat to eat at Levant. The hummus is so creamy and delicious. The side arugula salad was a lovely surprise. I was expecting a simple bowl of arugula in a light vinaigrette, but it came topped with goat cheese, grilled cauliflower and pita chips with a tasty dressing. Fantastic! But it’s the (not pizza) that keep us coming back! We love all the flavors, and always order extra for reheating at home the next day.
