Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. This was our second time in the restaurant and did not disappoint.There’s a very relaxed atmosphere The staff are lovely and there’s no sense of rush.You are made to feel very welcome..The only thing I wasn’t so keen on was the TV screen showing football games distracted our football mad family from entering into any other conversation!This is not a criticism of the restaurant as I knew what to expect before we went.We will be back.

Excellent evening, great food the Galician Chateaubriand was especially good, great service from a very knowledgeable waiter and some special touches made for our anniversary. Restaurant was slightly loud, but it was a busy Friday night so to be expected.

This is not a cheap option for lunch, but for a special occasion or treat, it is one of my favourite places in Edinburgh. The food, service and ambience are consistently exceptional. Definitely need to book in advance. The phone was busy all lunchtime with people looking for a table that night but they were fully booked.
