The Late August name derives from the joyful time of year when the Sears catalog would arrive at your doorstep, bringing a deep desire and wonderment to all who would receive it and begin feverishly circling the items that would hopefully arrive for Christmas.Our restaurant, set in the previous Historic Downtown Sears building, seeks to bring that same wonder to guests through its atmosphere, service, and cuisine. Known by generations for her hospitality, proprietress Elouise Adams Jones, a.k.a. Ouisie, serves an eclectic collection of Southern foods with an excellent wine list to match. High ceilings and fans in the main dining room it evoke the ambiance of a Texas manor house. Everything was excellent! Paola, our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly! We took all her recommendations and loved them. The LA bbq seafood was so flavorful. We met one of the owners, Danny and he gave us more background on the inspiration and culture behind the restaurant. I love their focus on giving back to the community and using local foods. Will definitely be back.

Le Jardinier fully deserves its new Michelin star. Our group of four had lunch after a museum visit. Everything from the ambience to the food to the service was spectacular. My squid ink shellfish ravioli was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted anywhere in the world, and our most carnivorous diner pronounced the Wagyu burger “the best piece of meat I’ve ever had.” Bravi to everyone at Le Jardinier!
