Chapter One is an award-winning Modern European restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes in Orpington, Kent. We received prompt and friendly service without fuss. All 3 courses of our a la carte menu choice ( as there were 2 of us, this means 6 dishes tried ) were excellent ( eg. halibut, beef tartare, pork cheek. tandoori monkfish , baked coffee tart ). We expected a high quality of food and service and we were not disappointed. Our white wine was served appropriately chilled. The restaurant was busy in this lead up to Christmas and yet our server took time to explain the menu and courses were delivered in a timely fashion. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable eating experience.

Great food and service as usual - only knocked down a star because it was super hot in the restaurant to start with (heating too high - though eventually rectified) and the seabass dish could’ve done with a few extra spuds.

We went to The Crown for lunch and really enjoyed it. It’s a beautifully refurbished pub with a very nice atmosphere. Lunch and a drink for £13.50 and quality of food was good.
