Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

Owner Brian Piccini is proud of his award-winning Restaurant & Bar, Deuxave in the Back Bay.     Our party of four visited on a busy Friday night. Very energetic atmosphere. Our server was attentive to our every request. Three of us chose tacos: coconut shrimp (4.5 stars), carnitas (4 stars) & the Baja w/ mahi mahi (4 stars). Our fourth has the taco bowl (4 stars). The side of guacamole was amazing! We would definitely go again! I want to try the lobster enchiladas…

    First time visit … 11/10! Simply fantastic experience from start to finish - food, ambiance and staff were all fantastic!!! Adrian, our server, was friendly, attentive yet not intrusive at all. Peter, the GM, took us to our table, made some menu suggestions and checked back in the evening to see how our experiences was going, if anything needed and thanked us for joining them. Can’t wait to return!

    From valet parking after horrendous Friday traffic, to an amuse bouche soup surprise, we laughed our way through three courses and a bottle of wine, at superb levels, including subtle duck in sauce, pepper perfect steak, huddled broccolini and a shared cardamon flan. We met, on our left, a visitor from England, avoiding her NY sister, and in our right, a cancer survivor keynote speaker. Great night out. Sorely needed .

    I have traveled the world and this restaurant was the best food I have ever had in my life!! Also, our waitress, Sarah, was so sweet and efficient!! I will be dreaming about this food! Can’t wait to come back!! PS - get the gnocchi with rabbit… you’ll thank me later!
