Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

Owner Brian Piccini is proud of his award-winning Restaurant & Bar, Deuxave in the Back Bay. The inspiration behind the restaurant’s American Nouveau Cuisine is seasonality, with a focus on working with the finest farms and purveyors, sourcing out the freshest, local ingredients and amplifying their magnificence.     As on previous visits Mare was great.. We started with fresh oysters. We had the waiter pick for us and he did an excellent job. My wife the pasta with mushrooms which she loved. I had the sword fish which was cooked perfectly, nice and moist. We shared an affogato for dessert, one of our favorites. Our server was pleasant, helpful and efficient. The evening was perfect.

    Had a wonderful Christmas eve dinner at Limani with our wonderful server, Mario G! He was incredibly attentive, personable and kind. The food was amazing — we had the saganaki, octopus, lobster mac and cheese, and the lamb shank. All food was amazing and spaced out perfectly. For drinks we had the spicy margarita, sangria, and espresso martini. 10/10 experience with a fantastic waiter. Will be coming back to Limani in the future!

    Excellent food. Slow service the night we attended. Wine choice was not on the menu. Waiter suggested an alternative without mentioning it was $28 a glass and not a big pour. Was not happy with that. But generally an ok experience.

    Decided to visit for my birthday because of a glowing referral from a neighbor of ours in Charlestown. We frequently walk into the North End for dinner and have been "in search of" our favorite restaurant. Well... we may have found it. Everything was excellent - food, service, wine list, and ambiance. Highly recommended.
