Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. Our server was wonderful and very helpful. The food was unique and tasted great. We had the meatball and tamale appetizer. Both tasted great and a good combination together. Entrees were steak and venison, maybe steaks were a tad undercooked but they were delicious. Intimate and nice place.

Nice easy going breakfast place. They do not require reservations for breakfast and rarely for lunch. My server, Miguel U was nice and efficient. He gave me plenty of time to make my selections. I ordered a hot matcha latte from the Little Owl Coffee bar nearby. He brought over a small stoneware beaker of simple syrup to sweeten my latte. I got the Scrambled Toast with veggies & scrambled egg on sourdough toast and an Icelandic style Skyr yogurt with granola. I will be back to try other items including lunch.

Everyone we interacted with, host, bartender, and servers were amazing. As was the food. We were celebrating my oldest son’s 21st birthday and you made it very special for him. Joking about his temporary license, complimentary champagne and Tiramisu, we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you. We will be back soon.

We haven’t been here in a long time yet we had the same service person who we remember from years ago! The food and the service were great. The buratta was not as good as I remember though; seemed like less cheese and more tomatoes (too many.) Parmesan crisp was very tasty, as usual!
