Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. We always enjoy our time at the National Exemplar Restaurant. The Christmas decor is just beautiful. The staff is friendly and efficient. We also enjoy the beautiful patio in the summer as well. The chef has some innovative dishes which are very good.

We had an excellent special occasion dinner (birthday) at Al-Posto in Hyde Park Square. The burrata and focaccia appetizer was especially good, as was the arancini appetizer. We had an early reservation just as they opened at 5 p.m., and this was wonderful for being able to hear each other easily. It didn't really start filling up and getting noisy until 6, when we were nearly finished. The service was attentive and very professional.
