Humo [oo-moh], is a modern firehouse situated in the heart of Watford, serving Spanish inspired meat, seafood, fish, and seasonal vegetables cooked in a charcoal and wood oven. The furnace reaches temperatures of over 300 degrees Celsius so the produce is seared and smoked in seconds, making sure the flavour sings on your palate, and not on the plate.The restaurant boasts a beautiful, seated island bar, a peephole into the working kitchen and covers for over 100 guests. Came on recommendation from a friend. We had the Keralan fish curry, Goan prawn curry, lamb rogan josh, tarka dhal, paneer, peshwari naans, jeera rice and pilau rice. All the dishes were very tasty. The service from Ramesh and others was excellent. Great ambience. We will be back.

It was our 2nd visit to the Script as we enjoyed the first one on Fathers Day very much. Unfortunately we weren’t as happy this time. The lamb in the roast was like a doorstop and the cauliflower cheese was a bit watery and the roast potatoes were a bit underdone. The club sandwich was extremely bad. Not really sure how you can make a club sandwich bad?? A lot of bread and not much inside. The chicken and bacon were very overdone and inedible. All we were offered was a complimentary coffee!

The wife and I went for a mid-week date night and had a lovely time at Humo. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the decor and overall aesthetic was very cool and most importantly the food was delicious. It’s a great asset to Watford high street.

This is a wonderful addition to Hatch End High Street. The size of the restaurant is a surprise for it looks like any other from outside but is quite big. The decor is plush. The food and service were excellent. Worth going with friends and family. Will come again soon.
