In 1943, on the corner of Ohio and Wabash in downtown Chicago, Uno Founders, Ike Sewell and Ric Riccardo, created the original and legendary Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza. They combined authentic Italian recipes with the finest meats, spices, vegetables and cheeses and baked them in a unique and delicious deep dish crust, creating a hearty pizza like no other.     First time trying Quartino as this is on my list of places to explore since moving to Chicago 5months ago. It was okay, small tables, tables too closed together also. Food was decent, not what I expected.

    We got taken care of right away. We made reservation on opentable which was easy & was able to request a birthday freebie. Ambiance was so pretty we sat in the covered patio. Lastly, the food was so good appretizer and our pastas. We got the calamari for appretizer and the Orecchiette & Mafalde Bucatini.

    My husband took me for my birthday and I was not disappointed. Excellent service from entrance to departure, we were well cared for by our servers. The food was pleasing to the eye and delicious. I had the bone-in ribeye cooked to perfection and my husband enjoyed the roasted half chicken. I even received a birthday dessert of my choice on the house! Everything was perfect for a first time visit and birthday dinner. We will be coming back!
