Scalini Fedeli was opened by chef-owner Michael Cetrulo in 1995 and very quickly became New Jersey's highest rated Italian restaurant. Rated excellent by the New York Times in 1996 and New Jersey's favorite restaurant in Zagat's Survey in 2001 and New Jersey Monthly's best Italian and top 25 overall in 2007. Highlights from the menu include soft egg yolk raviolo with black truffle butter, pignoli crusted salmon with artichoke and mint agnolotti in a light tomato and basil broth and braised short ribs of beef with a cherry pepper and port glaze. My experience at Rails was flawless, from the valet to the second I sat down at the table, I had an amazing woman to share this experience with, we had an amazing dinner and some perfectly prepared steaks that I bragged about to many other the following day. I think this place is one of the better steakhouses I’ve had the privilege of dining at. I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates an amazing bite! Enjoy it make The reservation and you won’t be disappointed!

Seated on the upper level of the dining room we had a grand view of the Tiffany ceiling, and it was much less noisy than the main floor or the red dog. At the close of the meal we were serenaded by the wonderful Brynn Stanley and her pianist, and we spent a happy hour post meal listening to them perform holiday and jazz favorites. A great way to begin the last weekend before Christmas!
