Serafina is a little gem of a restaurant, perched on top of Nob Hill, with views overlooking the city and Bay Bridge. Serafina was owner Maurizio Bruschi’s grandmother, and the name of her eponymous restaurant in the heart of Trastevere (Rome), where Maurizio first began making pizza at the age of 14. The executive chef is Umberto Cannarsa, a successful chef from Rome, who left his own restaurant in Rome to work with Maurizio again. The menu offers everything, including vegetarian options, but specializes in innovative Italian fish dishes, including fresh calamari, stuffed with olives, escarole, anchovies, drizzled with a potato leek sauce, as well as homemade pastas and dolci. The space is warm and elegant, where neighbors and friends can come together.

Morella celebrates the gastronomic influences that immigrants from European countries, particularly Spain and Italy, had on Argentinian cuisine in the decades following the mass migrations at the turn of the 20th century.     Perfect dinner - delicious pasta, fish and burger meals thoroughly enjoyed by our party of 3. The service by our waiter Dickie was professional, delightful, attentive with fun humor too. His back up crew was efficient in serving as well as clearing. We had a most enjoyable evening at this great old time San Francisco restaurant and we look forward to returning hopefully soon.

    Excellent service from beginning to end. Our waiter was superb. Food was heavenly as always. Always a special treat to celebrate occassions here. Disappointed though they don’t do the complimentary birthday desserts anymore. We ordered desserts but HOPR used to also do a fun little free birthday dessert for the birthday guests.

    We always try to eat at Gary Danko when we are in town (from Hawaii) for special holidays in this case Christmas Eve. So grateful they were open and able to accommodate us. This is always our go to place because our daughter in law is gluten intolerant and they always graciously accommodate her (even to the point of having gluten free bread). Many restaurants will not accommodate because of possible cross contamination, but Gary Danko always welcomes us. We love the selections of courses and look forward to the muffin they give for breakfast the following morning. The only criticism I have is that there is no valet parking - so we take taxi/uber weather can be severe. You have to try this and you will keep coming back!
