The food was absolutely delicious. My husband and I shared the Waldorf salad. My husband said the salmon was the best he’s ever had. I savored every bite of the A5 Japanese Wagyu, absolutely scrumptious. The cocktails and wine were amazing.

The Coast Guard House is a terrific place to have a great meal with a great view. The food selection and quality are excellent. The service is top notch. The atmosphere super.

We met up with a childhood friend of mine and his girlfriend for a wonderful lunch on a snowy Saturday afternoon. The host greeted us with enthusiasm, and our waiter was a pro. We never felt rushed… there’s a lot to catch up on after 50 years! The food was absolutely delicious, and our table was in a wonderful spot overlooking the bay and the gentle snowfall. It’s hard to imagine a better Saturday afternoon in Newport. We even celebrated our waiter’s recent US Citizenship after living here for 20 years. It was awesome!

Each dish was excellent. Group of four ordered 2 apps, 4 entrees, and 4 desserts. Attention to detail in the crafting of the food- including texture, flavor combinations, mouthfeel, cooking, and presentation. Felt well cared for as the waitstaff was very attentive. Consistently a favorite place to eat out!

My wife and I made a reservation after some research on the establishment. We expected this to be a very nice experience. We had no idea that our evening would be so special and memorable. We were seated on the second floor directly in front of the large fireplace. Our server was fantastic. He was courteous, prompt, attentive, and delightful to talk to. And then the food was served...... Wow! My complete compliments go to the chef. Absolutely delightful. Needless to say that if you are in the area, this is a must experience to believe stop. Yes, it may be a bit pricey, but completely worth every penny. Thank you to the entire staff of White Horse Tavern.
