Back after more than a two year closure following the George IV Bridge in late 2021, Merchants has undergone a full refurbishment. Merchants serves Scottish cuisine in one of the most bustling areas of Edinburgh. Braised shin of beef, haggis and seared seabass are some of the dishes on an ever-changing menu, and the restaurant is happy to try and cater for any specific dietary requirements. Found whilst walking on the Royal Mile, it was a great discovery. Very cosy ambience, large plates and a vast selection of delicious cocktails. We had a really nice time!

Fantastic food, great service. From the Haggis Spring roll to the Chocolate pave each course was superb. Decent and well priced wine list too. A great date night for my wife and I.

Cold town house is a beautiful atmosphere and the staff were incredible. Our server Amy was so lovely and bubbly, she recommended cocktails which were absolutely divine !! Overall we loved the food the drinks and the staff.
