In 1976 Michael Garman returned to Brighton and opened IL Bistroafter being inspired by the Italian and French culture and cuisineduring his travels to the Provence and the western coast of Italy.His goal was to open Brighton’s first Mediterranean steakhouse.For the first time, Brightonians were able to order fresh pasta,arancini, dry aged beef, tiramisu and negronis.47 years later and now being operated by Michael's son Abe,IL Bistro still stands by the same principles, using local suppliersand produce, fresh ingredients and the best available dryaged British beef. The restaurant is situated in an 18th centuryfisherman’s cottage which we find rather fitting after Michaelspent years in Portofino, Livorno and Saint-Tropez, Europe’smost famous fishing villages.Booking info:Since reopening from covid we ask for a £10 per person deposit in our busier times which gets deducted from your bill at the end of your meal. This was our first visit to Purezza. The food was amazing as was the service. Thank you. In fact the cheesecake was so delicious I bought an extra one to take home!

We had an amazing dinner at kusaki. The food is so, so good. We were literally blown away by most of the dishes! The decor is beautiful, simple and tasteful, the lighting is just right. Perfect attention from Alex who was serving us. It was reasonably expensive, however we did over order a bit. This is my choice of restaurant for special occasion or a very nice lunch. Most of the menu is gluten free or can be, so tonnes of choice for me. I Highly recommend you go and experience it for yourself...

We were a group of 5 family members. We opted to share a baked Camembert, followed by a beef roast dinner (Sunday). The whole experience was great: staff, quality of food, presentation, wine, ambience. We all enjoyed a fantastic meal and would definitely recommend.

Lovely place, people really nice, food was great, didn’t have to wait for each starter, main or dessert, always asked if we were good, we had a good night and wish we had found it earlier!! Definetly go again when in Brighton!👍
