Blackfriars is located in a 13th century medieval friary where it once served as the refectory for the Dominican friars, making it one of the oldest purpose-built dining rooms in the UK.The restaurant serves a classic, gutsy British menu sourcing seasonal produce from local farms and markets accompanied by a large award-winning wine list. Went to Blackfriars for a wine an and tapas tasting night.m, it was absolutely delicious. The guide talking us through all of the different wine and why they were paired with the food was excellent and very well informed, so well educated on wine and could answer every question. Plus all of the food that we had was delicious, well made and beautifully presented.

Lovely meal at an old favourite. Canage in management has not impacted on the experience, other than positively. Quality of my sirloin steak was outstanding. My wife stuck to her favourite scampi. Lovely tempura prawn starter shared.
