Insalata's Restaurant is moving into it's 28th year of the community minded restaurants in San Anselmo. Insalata's receives Bib Gourmand from Michelin for it's 15th year in a row. Our goal at Insalata's has always been to bring luscious Mediterranean food, gracious service and a warm atmosphere to our diners. For over 28 years we have shared this experience of intimate dining and joyful celebrations in a variety of ways. First and foremost as a fine dining restaurant with our beautiful private Siena room in which to sit and relax and enjoy a meal. Left Bank is our Go To restaurant. Located perfectly one town away from ours, great staff and bar, THE place to be before or after a Lark Theater performance and, most important, an excellent and satisfying menu. Keep on keeping on, L B!!

From the time we entered the front door until we departed, we experienced best in class service. The host sat us promptly, the waiter was quick to let us know what was new on the menu, and the servers brought out beautifully plated dishes. All with wide smiles. As for the food…5 star. Little gem salad dressing was incredible, and the Pork Chop was killer. All the above is consistent every time we have been here.

The food is always the best of the best. The gnocchi I call pillows of heaven so light, fluffy, and delicious. There are usually standards and some seasonal specialties. Right now the chef Duhlio is making an ink squid fettuccine with prawns and a Calabrian chile sauce. It’s spicy but not too much with a delicious tangy sauce over perfectly cooked sauce, it’s quite incredible. There is nothing on the menu that isn’t cooked to perfection. Personally I think it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in the Bay Area.
