Cooks & Soldiers brings the cuisine and cultural experience of Spain’s Basque region to the flourishing West Midtown area. The menu is divided into “pintxos tradicionales,” or tapas-like snacks served atop toasted bread; “pinxtos especiales,” or Basque-inspired small plates; “asador” including a variety of wood-grilled fish, meats and vegetables; and a selection of unique and modern desserts.     When I walked in, one of my favorite songs were playing (a John Summit song) so I was already having a great first impression. Our server Doug was amazing. He was patient, answered our questions and his timing in between courses was perfect. I’m very picky about my cosmos, and mine was made exactly to my liking. The food was delicious, I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes! Next time I’ll leave room for dessert!

    We came to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. They were able to accommodate us with a booth request. They had a special menu with the words ‘happy birthday’ on his menu, cute touch. Our server, Brett, was phenomenal. Every dish we ordered he explained to the T, so no unknown surprises. He saw I was taking photos and grabbed another candle for me! Great experience once again. We love coming here and can’t wait for next years new menu! Cheers!

    My wife and I have been going to Lire for years. It has always been our go to for seafood. With the rebrand and relaunch we are even more impressed. The menu is fantastic with options that allows you to create your own experience or enjoy a family style exploration of a myriad of tastes. The service has been and continues to be top notch. On our latest visit Haspil was our server. He was very attentive and delivered excellent recommendations that we may not have selected on our own (the whipped feta was one of his recommendations and it was probably the best plate of the night). I highly recommend Lure Saltwater Kitchen for anything from everyday dining to special occasions or events.
