Shinsei Restaurant - Traditional Sushi / Contemporary Asian KitchenWhen we came up with the concept of Shinsei we wanted a place that reflected our lifestyles: sometimes we went out to dinner with our kids and sometimes with our friends and husbands. We wanted to create a place where a night out with the kids didn’t mean food adults had to suffer through or a night out with the parents didn’t mean a stuffy place where kids had to wear a scratchy clip-on tie. The ambiance of Mar y Sol place was warm and bright. We got the mushroom empanadas, guacamole and sous vide chicken with potatoes; all were very good. I got the smoked tequila old fashioned and the taste combined with the smoked Palo Santo was an amazing combination. Our server, Ruby, was kind and attentive made our experience even better!

Great food ! Service was outstanding. Parking is bad, no parking to use had to park at offices across the street. Ambiance was nice but too crowded tables so close together you can have a conversation with people next to you and music was so loud you have to scream at each other to hear the person in front of you.

A beautiful restaurant in the arts district. Easy parking and a relaxed ambiance. We ordered the hummus and the jalapeño corn fritters for appetizers! Those corn fritters were a big YUM and so unique. We loved it. I ordered their seasonal Gingerbread Martini. It was incredible. Our entrees were great and the cobbler was delicious. We will definitely be back.
