Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. I’ve eaten here quite a few times and have never had a bad meal. The rib eye cap dinner is outstanding, but I departed and ordered the ribs last night. They were fall off the bone good!! Portion sizes are perfect and service is always attentive. This is one of my “go to” restaurants when I head to the Stapleton area. One area of caution. They changed their well bourbon for their Old Fashioned. It’s a terrible choice, so be sure to specify your own bourbon.

As usual the food was amazing. It can get pricey especially with a group of 4 or more, ordering alcohol impacts this as well. Must have items: black cod lettuce cups, Nobu Taco, black truffle sea bass, Anticucho lamp chops, & the shishito peppers. For dessert the shaved ice is amazing

Gage was our server was very attentive as well as excellent in all that he did. He was very knowledgeable and assisted us with making decisions quite well. I enjoyed the excellent food and atmosphere and am excited to come back for my birthday next month!
