Back after more than a two year closure following the George IV Bridge in late 2021, Merchants has undergone a full refurbishment. Merchants serves Scottish cuisine in one of the most bustling areas of Edinburgh. Braised shin of beef, haggis and seared seabass are some of the dishes on an ever-changing menu, and the restaurant is happy to try and cater for any specific dietary requirements.     Had a really great first experience at Nor’ Loft last night. The lady who served us was amazing. Really extensive knowledge of the champagne on offer and helped us select something new that we’d never tried before and lived it. Will definitely book again.

    Loved our dinner! We were at the castle lights and got a text to say our table was ready! Earlier than planned but suited us as we were cold and almost done at the castle. We headed down and were greeted with a warm welcome. Drinks and food were superb. Service was friendly and relaxed. Atmosphere was calm and not too noisey. Allergies were catered for with no fuss. We all really enjoyed our meal. Will definitely be back. Thank you! ⭐️

    Best Japanese food I've tasted - absolutely delicious. Especially recommend the Teryaki Salmon, Gyozas & the Aubergine. Celebrating a 21st birthday & Sarah was amazing, recommending delicious dishes & surprising us with a birthday desert with fresh fruit. Lovely restaurant with authentic Japanese feel - will definitely be back.

    I took my partner here for their birthday dinner. Sora Lella is always our go-to on special occasions - we had a lovely time! The staff made it a gorgeous night and put a birthday candle on our dessert! Will endlessly recommend Sora Lella <3

    Not enough superlatives- I was dubious when the ceviche came out last but it was a stroke of genius by the chef - a wonderful palate cleanser to end the small plate selection perfectly - cannot recommend enough - would definitely return!
