Following the success of his first restaurant in Vauxhall, chef and founder Ajay Chaurasia has opened a second site in Wimbledon, bringing his own personal take on Indian cuisine to South-west London. On offer is a range of lesser-known regional dishes along with plenty of tried-and-tested favourites so there’s something for everyone at this bright and cheerful restaurant. Chaurasia’s aim is to bring together flavours from all over the Indian continent, Sharing appetizers includes the likes of king prawns (Tiltala Jhinga) and sticky tamarind wings with avocado chat - a contemporary spin on the classic street food snack. Tandoor highlights include Murgh Hariyali Tikka, which is grilled chicken breast marinated with fresh green spices and yoghurt, as well as vegan options, too. Absolutely incredible evening at Smoke & Salt. The food was so delicious, each and every dish cooked perfect with so many gorgeous flavours. The service was so great as well, everyone was so accommodating and attentive throughout. Could not recommend enough and we will definitely be back again and again! Superb, very authentic tasting food. The service was excellent. I went for my daughter’s birthday, she wore her birthday sash and they bought out a cake by surprise which I did not request initially. That was so nice. The waiter’s sang happy birthday with some of the other diners. Thanks for making the day special. I will be back. 😊

The restaurant now has a lovely cosy feel. Great food and service, big portions so good value, last time I had the pork belly bites for starter and they were delicious, my partner said he could just eat a whole bowl of them. This time I had the fish and chips and enjoyed it. Service all round was excellent, friendly and helpful, need to try the sunday roast next. Will definitely return and would absolutely recommend
