Fergus Henderson’s original home of “Nose to Tail Eating” opened in a former smokehouse around the corner from Smithfield Market in 1994.Celebrating the finest of indigenous British produce and making the most of what is seasonally best whilst applying straight forward cooking techniques, St. John is now celebrated as one of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World and in 2009 was awarded its first Michelin Star.Nose to tail eating means that, where appropriate, every part of the animal should be put to good use in the kitchen and so along with Roast Beef and Lemon Sole, diners will find Rolled Pig’s Spleen, Kidneys and Ox Heart, Liver and Chitterlings as well as the Roast Bone Marrow & Parsley Salad, something of a ‘signature’ dish.

Tired of the loosely French inspired humdrum of restaurants popping up across the city of London? Do you like holidays? Do you like cold drinks and warm service? If you've answered yes to one or more of these then perhaps Tollington's can refresh both your pallet and your mind. The idea came from a mirror in an antiques market and a love for a more informal approach to dining, the result is a chippy in North London with old church pews bolted to the walls to be leaned on and eaten from. The focus is on fish but the menu transcends fish, mammals and vegetables, leaving no stone unturned in the never ending quest for flavour. Split between two rooms, the front the engine, the kitchen and bar shared by customers as they perch on bar stools and enjoy dinner and a show. It was very nice but very rushed. Christmas dinner is not a sprint it is a marathon. By ignoring that concept they ruined what would have been a beautiful festive feast.

We enjoyed, nay, loved our experience at Fitz’s for Christmas lunch. It could not have been better. Cocktails to champagne to burgundy, pared with magnificent dishes, including lobster bisque, scallops, turkey, pudding and more. OMG it was great. But the service was spectacular. We had Naeera, a French lady who was exceptionally attentive. Over four hours of bliss! Thank you Naeera — you made Christmas 2024 so special for us.

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy a great buffet experience. The selection is impressive, with a wide variety of marinated meats to cook, chicken wings, soup, Tteok-bokki, dishes that cater to all tastes. Considering we were a big group of 10 the service is exceptional—staff are attentive, friendly, and make you feel right at home. We also got to enjoy the karaoke rooms which were jammed packed full of favourite songs

Food was excellent as always, and great service. It is pricey but also servings are huge - I’d happily reduce both by 25% and still walk away full instead of wasting anything.
