I recently had the pleasure of experiencing afternoon tea at Floris at VFMA, and it was an absolutely delightful affair. The sweet and savory menu items were a perfect balance of flavor, and the selection of teas complemented the dishes beautifully. Each bite and sip felt like a moment to savor. The ambiance at Floris was equally impressive—the seating was both comfortable and elegant, creating an inviting atmosphere that truly enhanced the experience. The staff equally warm and inviting. A personal highlight for me was the cucumber sandwiches. They were wonderfully fresh and flavorful—so good that I found myself wishing for more! Floris exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return for another memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a refined and relaxing afternoon tea!

Always meets expectations at Tarrants Downtown. Staff is courteous, prompt and experienced. Food is amazing and consistent with a diverse menu of local favorites. Atmosphere is eclectic and they are able to accommodate intimate tables and parties of 8 or more. Highly recommend reservation for large parties. Staff is prompt to answer the phone and easily accommodated last minute changes to my reservation. Tarrants Downtown is in our top 3 of restaraunts when eating in the city limits of Richmond.

Stella's is never a disappointment. Never. Just go find a reservation time and book it!

As always, the food, ambiance, and service were excellent. My husband and I have been talking about L'Opposum to my husband's brother, my brother, and their wives since our first meal there in 2018. We wanted to take my brother and his wife to L'opposom because he is a chef, and she is the best cocktail maker. They both have an amazing wine collection. They are foodies, and we knew they would appreciate this restaurant and its offerings. My brother and I grew up in France. Luckily for both of us, cooking was only done with high-quality fresh food in our family. Every Sunday, we all cooked together and sat at the table enjoying conversations and laughs, and adults dutifully paired wines with the dishes of the day (of course, while educating us children about the need to do so) I am sharing this because L'Opposom offers a colorful environment with a skilled staff, a witty and excellent menu, a tremendous thought-through music list, and a great cocktail and wine list. In some ways, each time I have been there, I am taken back to my Sunday meals, where food and drinks were always delicious, laughter was plentiful, and you could hear each other talk (I do not know how it's done, but you can actually have a conversation without having to raise your voice or ask someone to repeat). Fun environment, excellent food and service. For apps, we had crab dip, brie, and duck drummies. For dinner, our table had the pork shank, meatloaf, vegetarian pot pie, shrimp andouille, catfish and red snapper. The crab dip stood out as the best app and the pork shank and meatloaf were the best meals. Everything was good but those were the highlights.
