Frist time trying Chez TJ and we loved the experience. My wife loved the vegan tasting menu that featured a variety of vegetables and tasty sauces. Attentive staff made the experience that much better.

What a memorable way to celebrate a birthday! We shared Trout and Pasta entrees and a mouth-watering salad, tasted two wines before selecting one then capped the evening with a butterscotch custard dessert that quickly disappeared. All of this was reinforced with attentive service from four different staffers. We plan returning in two weeks.

The pesto appetizer is excellent. We oedred the Crab Brandada and the Chicken Livers, and both were delicious. Also delicious was the decaf coffee we had. His is a place I recommend to my friends because they know how to cook and how to run a classy restaurant.

Came for the Valentines Day special and had the tasting menu - food was excellent and the dishes had very complex textures and flavors, and everything was clearly curated very carefully and intentionally. The staff was surprisingly attentive and pleasant despite how busy it got, and they even took the time to take a polaroid of us and present us our photo with a small paper flower. 100% would return

Visited on Valentine’s Day and was not disappointed. Cocktails at the bar, Gin Blossom and an Old Fashioned. The barman made a wonderful recommendation for a rye whisky. Dinner after was Halibut and Lamb Ragu. My wife said the halibut was cooked perfectly. My lamb ragu was very tasty. Staff were very attentive throughout. We have supported Scratch a lot since lockdown, possibly the nicest venue on Castro if you like a stylish venue with good food and quality drinks. Ambiance can suffer though if it is quiet.
