A hip and fun restaurant with chef's counter dining, serving thoughtful American cuisine, with an emphasis on local seasonal products.Ethel's Fancy is open at 5 PM Tuesday - Saturday.We have a small dining room with a limited amount of reservable tables. We do keep our Bar seats and a table in the restaurant open for people to walk-ins. Walk-ins are on a first come basis. Please do not make multiple reservations with the intention of combining reservations to increase party size.All guests must be present before your party will be seated.To help provide a seamless experience for all our guests, we have allocated 2-hours for your group of 2 to 4 people.

Established in 1959, owners Jenny Youll and Mike Sabina expanded the once small coffeehouse of St. Michaels Alley into this intimate dining establishment in 2009. The restaurant provides three comfortable spaces for a dinner out with friends, date night, or a complete private event. The main dining room is wood paneled and intimate. The front room / bar area is more casual and social, yet still offers tables with linens and the full menu. The solid wood bar is a favorite dining spot for many of the regulars and locals. A beautiful outdoor patio is most enjoyable on warm summer days and nights as it open to the sky.     Hurrica was the perfect place to take my friend for her birthday. The view is stunning right on the water. The menu has a great selection and the meals we had were delicious. I would recommend this place for a special event definitely.

    We ordered the 4 course tasting menu and enjoyed it much more than the full course tasing menu. I had the soufflé which was the best thing I’ve eaten all year filled by the wagyu steak. All wagyu is not equal and this was excellent. The desserts were so so, I had the cheesecake and my date the Brest. Both were ok but compared to the rest of the food, seemed weak. We also had the stacked potatoes with crème fraiche and chives which I loved. Ample servings, too. We love The Plumed Horse! Nice to have a good restaurant close by.

    Had an extraordinary dining experience with their 10-course meal with their fabulous wine pairing. I really appreciated the wines chosen so thoughtfully that enhanced and complimented the flavors of each dish and was happy to discover some wonderful international wines. Truly a once in a lifetime luxurious experience. Thank you Commis for making my 60th birthday celebration so memorable and special.
