Oma's Hideaway is a vibrant, maximalist restaurant inspired by the life and spirit of Chef Thomas Pisha Duffly's grandmother, Kiong Tien “Tina” Vandenberg. Her ability to adapt, to make the most out of limited resources, and to stay creative while projecting warmth and brightness is the guiding force behind Oma’s Hideaway.Born during the pandemic as a pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot, Oma’s became a permanent beacon of iridescent light in Portland’s Richmond neighborhood in 2021. Our divine waiter went above and beyond. He graciously pointed out all the vegan options on the menu and his suggestions were spot on. After the meal, I got caught by a stopped train and a hot cookie was presented to me. A memorable experience for sure!

I cannot even put into words what a wonderful experience it was dining at Morchella. My partner & I came to celebrate our anniversary with the 7 course chefs tasting menu. From tip to tail, the experience was curated with intention, care, and passion. The ambiance is mellow, beautiful & intimate. The service was incredible with very knowledgeable servers & chef Cam going the extra mile to tell us the history of the foraged spices used in our drinks & food. If you are looking for an affordable fresh fine dining experience in the Portland area, Morchella is the place to go.
