Located in San Francisco’s Design District, Niku Steakhouse is a meat-focused restaurant, highlighting an in-house dry aging program, exclusive cuts of coveted Japanese A5 wagyu with an emphasis on wood fired cooking. Niku, by the Omakase Restaurant Group, hosts a dining room oriented around a roaring custom binchotan charcoal and wood-fired grill, where guests watch as Executive Chef Dustin Falcon (Lazy Bear, The French Laundry) and his team prepare steaks to perfection.     I had not been in many years…but I remembered the food was great…and it still is. We were two…she had a salad, a soup and a chicken dish…she loved them all….I had the scallops scrudo…tender and mild for those who eat raw shellfish….the pork chop was outstanding, my drink was the last kiss…wonderful. Thank you to our primary server Maria for her guidance. Everyone was attentive…not overbearing. A beautiful dinner was had.

    Wonderful food and service. Would be nice to dine such lovely food in an atmosphere where one can have an enjoyable conversation with fellow diners rather than having to yell over the relentless piped music. The food speaks for itself. The music dimities ones enjoyment.

    We have been here 4-6 times. As always the food was phenomenal. The service is discrete but attentive. The tomahawk is cooked perfectly. The bone marrow is unbelievable. The salads are tasty and lightly dressed. The potato stack amazing. We tried pig ears tonight: wow. The deserts have different flavors, different textures and colors. Mainly good. And one does not get bored with it
