Amazing tacos & churros! Staff were all so friendly. They make the tortillas right there and you can watch them! Such a fun place & atmosphere! 10/10

Great Dinner ! Tacos were fantastic ….especially the ones that have the Cheese as the shell !! The vegetarian options are also great especially the curry one . Music was wonderful ! A must visit when in SDJ

We loved this restaurant. First: the restaurant itself. It’s set in a courtyard of blooming foliage and old brick and stone walls of partially destroyed buildings; it evoked nostalgia and a sense of renewal. Second: the staff. They were extremely attentive and kind. At the end of the meal, they gave us a treat of delicious chocolate mezcal and sent us home with a mini loaf of sourdough bread to have for breakfast the following morning. Third: the food! I had the catch of the day in cream sauce with fresh vegetables and it was very very good. I tried a few of my husband’s French fries which were cooked in beef tallow and would go back if those fries were the only thing on the menu! It’s a romantic spot for two but we look forward to sharing it with friends.

This is the second time I’ve been to Phortal. It’s an amazing restaurant unlike anything else in the area. Don’t miss this one. Food is outstanding and service is beyond lovely definitely will go back.

Always a good meal, we once again enjoyed a meal at Agave. The service was friendly and professional, the food delicious, and sitting upstairs outside watching the people on the street below is a treat. Only minor complaint, our drinks came with a huge chunk of ice rather than cubes, as if the ice froze in the freezer and no one bothered to break it up. That won't keep us from coming back!
