Gjelina is a restaurant specializing in New American cuisine. Open every day from 8 a.m. until 11pm, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, try 9 grain pancakes with butter and maple syrup or warm banana buckwheat loaf with butter and jam of the day. Brunch options include Moroccan baked eggs and 7 grain porridge. Gjelina offers a variety of oysters, crudo, charcuterie and salad options to start at lunch and dinner. It took a while to get our coffees, but other than that, the food was absolutely delicious. The six of us agreed that it may have been the best breakfast we have had in the LA area.

Another spectacular meal at Gjelina. I've made it my mission to work my way through the menu, and last night I tried the orecchiette with beef cheek bolognese, Japanese turnip and coal-roasted cabbage - all excellent. Special props to the orecchiette. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauce was rich and savory and the addition of the dollop of ricotta bound all the elements together beautifully. Loved it.

Overall, this was a good experience. We had the duck and filet mignon, both of which were cooked to our liking. Also had the stuffed baked potato, which was huge. If you’re a carnivore you should add this restaurant to your list.

Great food in a unique atmosphere with outstanding service. Yes, it is a tad pricy, but I would gladly go back. Too bad they are closing on 12/15 after 45 years in the community. I will miss you “Rose”!!!
