Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023. I ordered a salad with grilled salmon. The salad came without the salmon; two people came over to apologize and to tell me they comped the salmon. I was floored. This place exceeded my expectations in food and service. Wow. Can't recommend highly enough.

There was a private event that required we be seated in a private dining room that was cozy and comfortable. Despite this huge event happening, our service by Gustavo was incredibly attentive and timely. What a warm and wonderful human being! Chef Todd Gray always manages to hire the best staff out there. They are incredibly personable, knowledgeable and caring about their work. The food is always scrumptious and top notch. Equinox is our go-to plant-based restaurant for sure. It's always a celebration of food, love, ambience, and fabulous service. We adore it there.
