Departure in Portland offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. Super busy on Christmas... at least if your reservations were between 3:00 and 4:00. They also didn't stage the tables well. Our server told us they gave her 5 tables all at once. It was almost a half hour after being seated before she even took our drink orders. We were done with appetizers before our meal order was taken. Other than the length of time it took to be served and waiting for water to be refilled, dinner was good. Calamari and Brie were our appetizers... the cloves of garlic with the brie were spot on. One daughter had the stuffed salmon that she enjoyed. My other daughter, mom, and I had different fettuccine. Mine was salmon and wild mushrooms, and the salmon was in decent sized chunks. My boyfriend had steak, which he said was the perfect medium rare. All in all it was a wonderful meal.

What a beautiful Christmas breakfast! We had a group of 11, a mixture of kids, teens, and adults. We were treated with kindness & generosity throughout our visit. We never felt rushed even though we were there for a long time. Our drinks and food were excellent. The ambiance was a very sweet and upscale holiday vibe. Our server was incredible. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

We had our meal here on Christmas Eve. This restaurant was SLAMMED, but they handled it extremely well. We never felt like we weren't being attended to. The food was excellent, salad bar continuously being refreshed. Some of the meats weren't exceptional, but for a night that was jam-packed our wait was less than expected and service was great.

The Chilean Seabass was excellent, along with the beet salad and the wonderful flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Our waiter was most helpful in making suggestions for my dietary issues. Sitting next to the window, even on a rainy day was beautiful. I highly recommend Portland City Grill for their outstanding service, excellent food, and of course, the view!
