Soak up our friendly service and homely charm when nestled in this welcoming pub located in the heart of Stanpit village on Dorset's south coast. Here at the Ship in Distress, we are the perfect retreat to sit back, relax and indulge in our delicious food with the perfect drink in hand. We love our coastal location and our bar pays tribute to this with a fittingly traditional nautical theme! Dogs are welcome and we've got a large car park for visitors and plenty of seating space. The Manor’s Restaurant serves rustic fare in an elegant setting with a focus on homemade, comforting cooking.     Please leave the side mural. I was expecting to see the front with a mural. Inside it is very inviting with a lot of space. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The menus were impressive with great food selections. Thank you to all.

    Great meal in lovely location. Restaurant elegant with a relaxed atmosphere. Menu not large but had a good varied choice. Food well cooked and beautifully presented. Reasonably priced. Only criticism would be the lack of vegetables with the meal - they were more of a garnish. Would have liked a side dish of veg especially as the meat portions were quite large. Would definitely recommend.

    A stunning first visit to The Oaks! The Cheese Soufflé is phenomenal. We dined on a Wednesday night so took advantage of the 2 steaks offer - absolutely perfect steak with great accompaniments and wine included. Winner. Lovely staff, super friendly and a gorgeous venue too. We will be back next time we visit the South Coast for sure!
