Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to reservations, we also have a thirty seat bar that is first come, first serve. We don’t know exactly how old the bar is, but it’s at least seventy years old (probably older) and very cozy. Our friendly bartenders are here to make something you like.

Bella Terra Vineyards re-opened the Wine Cave in fall of 2023 to be a full service restaurant. Whether you are dining inside the cave or outside in our beautiful landscape and patio this is a very unique location. Enjoyed a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner in this marvelous venue! EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!! We live in Florida but are from Pa. We discussed making this a Thanksgiving tradition. Everything from venue to people and service to food and drink was incredible! The only disappointment was they didn’t have any Christmas decorations up. I understand they put those up the weekend after Thanksgiving. It would have made for a more festive atmosphere. They’re open 7 days a week and I highly recommend one visit for lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch.

The fancy crispy chicken sandwich was delicious but very messy to eat as a sandwich. I'm not sure I would change anything but perhaps offer a wet nap to patrons. 😊

This place is always lovely. It is quiet and intimate and the food is consistently very good. I love having a treasure like this in our neighborhood!
