We are a family owned business located in the centre of York by the River Ouse. Our bar and bistro has gained a reputation for a wide range of beers and spirits coupled with an excellent selection of wines and champagnes. Close to The Grand Opera House and city centre, Plonkers is an ideal place to meet with friends or colleagues for a relaxed drink.Weekends at Plonkers can have a party atmosphere where you can relax after work with friends. Upstairs seats approximately 26 but we can cater for buffets for around 40 people with some standing.     Amazing quality of food. Fantastic service. Wanted something special for wife's birthday and our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. Given couple of Proseccos on the house and made to feel really special. Had couple of starters and then the signature flat iron steaks with accompaniments and it was cooked perfect and tasted amazing. Will definitely return.

    Our afternoon Tea was excellent. I have over my many years eaten in various places for afternoon tea but I must confess at the GRAND HOTEL, York, is most definately the best. My compliments to the chefs who prepare the food (sandwiches, scones and cakes). You can taste every flavour. Well done, you most definitely get my vote 100% and excellent value for money.

    Our food was amazing! So tasty and all dietary requirements met including a last minute change from the chef which gave me great confidence that my needs were met re CC. The venue was very busy but we were seated promptly and never had to wait for food or drinks. A lovely evening!

    Had an amazing meal tonight for my 60th birthday. All the staff were amazing, but we were really looked after by Tom & Brennan, serving us and being really friendly. They made our night perfect. Thanks guys. Shame they had run out of garlic bread which made my husband shed a few tears, bless!
