The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. Welcome to The Warren Restaurant, an extension of The Crowborough Estate, holding stock of Sussex Cattle, Boer Goats, Fallow deer, and Wild boar amongst others which the restaurant draws on for its menu. We are a Dog Friendly restaurant. Given the provenance, the kitchen predominantly cooks British food, occasionally dipping into other cuisines to provide a vehicle for flavours – nettle gnocchi for example, or poached oyster with wild boar chorizo.WE wanted a unique fun and informal restaurant, to offer their Crowborough Estate’s produce from. Delightful old pub by the Ashdown forest. Good menu and service. Genuinely surprised by the quality of the food. Fully recommend. Staff welcoming and attentive. And most important - the plates were warmed. Nice coffee too. Will be booking another lunch there soon.

Pork roast was amazing. I called it my "death row dinner." It would be the food I'd order as my last meal, for the pure enjoyment! Brilliant service, always lovely to go there and such lovely staff who make you feel like friends and family.

Shown to our table as soon as we arrived. Excellent service and sumptuous food. Roast beef and lamb with all the trimmings you would expect from a Sunday roast. We will be returning.
