**MOTHERS DAY 2025 - PLEASE CALL TO BOOK ON 01245 222457**The Anchor in Danbury is the epitome of an English Country Inn, boasting beautiful traditional beams, quaint shining brass and a warm welcoming atmosphere which has made this pub a firm favourite for many years.We have a lovely large garden with a fun children's play area, great for keeping the kids entertained while you catch up with friends and family over a relaxing drink or with some great food.- Four legged friends are welcome at the pub, please ask our friendly staff for confirmation on which areas can accommodate you as we do require that dogs are kept out of the main dinning areas. - Please note reservations with a dog are necessary, and can only be taken over the phone on 01245 222457 stating you have a dog.- If you have a pushchair/buggy we ask that you call to make reservation, due to limited space.

The renovation period was used to combine some of the original period features of the building with furnishings and classically styled decoration that complements the original style of this house. Le Bouchon Brasserie offers a blend of both French and British cuisine, set in a relaxed and intimate environment. Enjoy a meal from our A la carte menu or choose from our wide selection of set menus available at different times during the week.

The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch.     Really good food. The short rib, blondie and sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Staff are always friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a visit.

    Best restaurant in Maldon. Excellent food, lovely and clean and very attentive staff. Just the perfect amount of time between courses and never feel rushed. The 3 course deal on Sunday afternoon is amazing value and the kids loved their food too! Highly recommend this place!!

    We have eaten here before but tonight they really outdid themselves. The service was prompt, polite and great. The food was tremendous - my partner had the Scallops and Pork Belly to start and the steak for main and both were great. I had the Venison to start and the Duck Breast for main and these were equally fantastic. Both desserts - the Tarte Tatin and Chocolate Torte - were also lovely. Great meal, one of the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back!

    Truly superb ingredients that are cooked to perfection, the waiting staff are very aware of what is needed without being to intrusive.

    We visited the Angel on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly waiter called Jack. We had the Sunday roast. I had the beef and my husband had the trio of meat roast. The food came quickly and tasted delicious. We then both had apple crumble with custard for dessert. All the food we had was lovely. Our waiter Jack was very attentive ensuring we were ok. We will definitely be back soon for another meal.
