The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. Excellent service with very polite, friendly and attentive staff who were very helpful in advising one of the party who had dietary requirements. We all ate from the set menu which gave a good choice of interesting dishes. All the food was very well cooked, delicious and well presented. The restaurant has a pleasant , friendly atmosphere without being noisy. Good value for money and very close to car parking. Can thoroughly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyable lunch for 4 :- 1.Ham, eggs & Chips 2.Sea Bass, Crushed new potatoes, veggies 3.Cheesy cottage pie 4.Fishfinger sandwich with salad, chips All lovely. We will be returning to eat again.

A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. My friend is vegan and they adapted a meal for them as well as going through the vegan options on the wine menu. Delicious food all round and a lovely atmosphere.
